Nino Cerruti gave up his philosophy studies in 1950 to take over the family fabric business founded by his grandfather in 1881, hence the name given to the men's line launched in 1967 and the perfume in 1978. In 1990, the perfume Cerruti 1881 pour Homme was launched, followed by the women's version in 1995. Today, Cerruti 1881 Black and Fair Play round out the range of men's and women's perfumes.
