Yves Saint Laurent (1936 - 2008) began his career as an assistant to Christian Dior, whom he replaced as artistic director after his death in 1957. In the early 1960s, together with his friend Pierre Bergé, Yves Saint Laurent created the fashion house that bears his name. The first perfumes Y and Pour Homme were followed by many others, including Rive Gauche, Opium, Paris, Kouros, M7 and more recently L'HOMME and elle.
