In 1951, Alice Darot, a doctor of chemistry, found after several months of applications on different areas of the body that her formula improved cellular repair of the skin. She developed a day cream for her personal use. Her friend encouraged her to launch her own skincare line. Alice chose the brand name Jean D'Avèze. Her formula later became the Crème de Jouvenance, prescribed by the medical profession for its effectiveness in improving the skin's appearance before a planned surgical procedure or after trauma. Since then, Jean d'Avèze has been developing cosmetics to beautify the skin a little more every day.
