Paco Rabanne (real name Francisco Rabaneda y Cuervo) is a leading French fashion designer born in the Spanish Basque country in 1934. He presented his first women's collection in 1966 and created Calandre, an aldehyde floral, in 1969. In 1973, he launched Paco Rabanne pour Homme, a fougère that became a perfume classic. In 1993, he met with success with XS, a masculine fragrance in a lighter-shaped bottle. In 2000 and 2001, he launched Ultraviolet and Ultraviolet Man, fragrances evoking the theme of the future and space. In 2005, he created Black XS, a masculine fragrance with woody, fruity and gourmand scents, which was successfully adapted for women in 2007. In 2008, the designer created 1 Million, a men's fragrance in a gold bullion bottle.
